April 2009

Report Date: April 4, 2009

As of 4-5-09 fishing has been good on warm afternoons. Throwing to windblown points and pockets. Small bucktails, jigheads and fluke combos, little fishers, and other small shad imitation lures are the ticket. Water temp. is approaching 60 degrees. Stripers, hybrids and bass follow the bait up to the shallow water as it will warm up first. By the time you read this, fish will be eating herring and bait will work great. By mid-April the morning bite will be as good as afternoon. Lake Hartwell is only 8 ft. low and filling up fast.
